U.C. Davis Gateway Studies Concept
Location: Davis, CA
Client: U.C. Davis
Team: Andrew Sullivan Studio, Neu Campus Planning, Creo Landscape Architecture
Creo worked closely with Andrew Sullivan Landscape Studio, Neu Campus Planning and the U.C. Davis Planning Department to help them re envision six gateways into campus. Multiple conceptual studies were prepared that include realignment of roadways and main walkways, circulation diagrams, a series of layered shade trellises and identity and branding concepts. This concept is inspired by agricultural fencing and equipment, giving cues to the University’s past and present, while the intricate shadows create another level of detail for people to experience as they pass through the threshold of campus.
